Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the .NAME universal extension is the only one planned for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domains remained active.

Through our firm, you can grab your .NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer code from the current domain registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no special terms on who can obtain a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its creation alive, the Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
