Setting a new DNS resource record is astonishingly easy. You simply have to choose a domain name and then fill in the resource record that you want. Any change you have made will be reflected live within twenty four hours. If you want to recover the initial DNS record value, simply press the Revert button.

The Custom DNS section also comprises a GeoIP location tool, which permits you to redirect people from a certain geographical region to a certain language version of your web site.

With the Wildcard DNS functionality, you will be able to make all your current subdomains forward to the home page of your web site. For example, when someone enters smth.domain.com or any.domain.com, they will go to http://domain.com/.

You may need the Wildcard DNS functionality for a multi–site web app such as Joomla^™ Multi–Site or WordPress.

To activate a wildcard domain, proceed to the Domain Manager section of your Control Panel and click on the Add Host button located on the right. At the bottom of the list of options, you will see the Wildcard Domain check box.

Using the GeoIP location tool included in the Domain Manager, you can point a specific language version of your site to a certain target audience. It boasts an easy–to–work–with point ’n’ click interface where you don’t have to type any code. You just have to insert the whereabouts of your prospective website visitors along with the URL that you’d like to open for those visitors.

For instance, if you’ve got a German version of your web site at de.your–site.com, you must type it in the URL field and then choose Germany as a preferred destination market. In this way, whenever a visitor coming from Germany opens your web site, they’ll see de.your–site.com rather than your–site.com.
