Varnish
Learn about Varnish, learn more about website accelerators to see exactly what it is that they can do.
Varnish is a web accelerator platform, which caches content for the sake of faster access. It is occasionally referred to as a caching HTTP reverse proxy too and it interacts between a web server and a web browser. When a site visitor opens a given webpage, the content is requested by the browser, and then the web server handles this browser request and sends back the needed data. If Varnish is enabled for a particular website, it will cache its pages at the very first visit and in case the visitor opens a cached page again, the info will be delivered by the accelerator platform instead of the server. The increased speed is an end result of the significantly faster response speed that the Varnish platform offers compared to any web server software. At the same time, this does not mean that the site visitors will continue seeing the very same content over and over again, since any modification on any of the web pages is reflected in the content that the Varnish platform caches in its system memory.

Varnish in Shared Web Hosting
Varnish is available as an optional upgrade with each of our
Linux shared web hosting packages. You can add it to your web hosting account from the Hepsia Control Panel, which is available with all shared hosting packages and you’ll get an exceptionally user-friendly interface, which will grant you complete control over the data caching platform. Using one-click fast-access controls, you can restart or turn off any of the instances, in other words – Varnish will no longer work for a particular Internet site. You can also check an elaborate system log or clear the cache associated with any of the Internet sites. When you add Varnish to your web hosting package, you’ll be able to choose the maximum amount of system memory that will be at your disposal for data caching purposes and the number of the sites that will use Varnish. You can always add more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for best performance, you can get a dedicated IP address for the websites that will use Varnish. This will allow you to get the most out of your sites and to have many satisfied users.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Hosting
All our
Linux semi-dedicated hosting packages come with Varnish by default, so you can take full advantage of the web accelerator and increase the load speed of any website that you host on our platform. You’ll get 64 megabytes of memory exclusively for the Varnish accelerator at no additional charge and you’ll be able to create an instance with no more than a couple of clicks through the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated server packages. In case you want more memory, the latter is available in increments of 32 megabytes in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section and it will be at your disposal straight away. You can also order more instances as an upgrade, so you can choose if plenty of content will be cached for one website or if the memory will be utilized by different websites. Hepsia will enable you to restart or to discontinue any instance, to view the system log associated with it or to clear the cached content using one-click controls. To take full advantage of Varnish, you can get a dedicated IP for the websites that will use it.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers Hosting
If you order a
dedicated server with the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you’ll get the Varnish caching platform at no additional fee and you’ll exert full control over it through a really easy-to-use interface – you will be able to start, to cancel or to reboot an instance, to see an in-depth system log, to delete the cached data for any website and much more. The Varnish caching platform will have several gigabytes of memory at its disposal, so even if you run large Internet sites with a lot of visitors, you will notice the substantially faster site loading speeds and the decreased load on the dedicated machine. This will happen soon after you start using the Varnish platform, since it will require some time to cache the site content that visitors browse. You can get the most out of the platform’s capability if the sites that are using it also use a dedicated IP address, but due to the fact that your server comes with several IPs by default, you will not need to pay anything on top of the monthly charge for the machine itself.
